We’re happy, and yet a little sad, to announce that the Dog Psychology Center will be temporarily closing its doors. Although the South Los Angeles location is closing, the center will live on in a new form.

Before the show, before the book, before the Emmy nomination, there was the Dog Psychology Center. This is where it all began more than a decade ago. Cesar and Ilusion Millan rented a rundown piece of property in the warehouse district of South Los Angeles. Together, with love and dedication, they renovated the location and made it what it is today: a canine haven, housing up to sixty dogs at a time, where Cesar trains owners and rehabilitates their dogs.

The memories the Millan family will leave behind at the DPC are countless. Here Cesar improved the lives of frustrated pet owners. Here he saved innumerable abused and neglected dogs. Here his children Calvin and Andre learned how to be pack leaders.

Now, as their resources grow, Cesar and Ilusion tackle a new goal: expanding their reach. Cesar plans to find a larger facility, where he can live on the property to be even closer to the dogs. They have opened a non-profit organization, aimed at educating the public on animal welfare and aiding rescue groups and dog shelters across the nation.

Cesar and Ilusion believe the growth ahead will allow them to touch the lives of more people and save the lives of more dogs than ever before. So, while we shed tears for what we leave behind at the Dog Psychology Center in South Los Angeles, we look ahead with excitement, and we thank you for the support that made this transition possible. Without you, we would not be able to reach such heights.
